Primetime for beer events is quickly approaching, and it all begins with Colorado Craft Beer Week, March 22-29!
We’ll start the week strong and end with the return of a classic barrel-aged brew. Here’s our highlights for the week:
Saturday, March 22nd: Collaboration Fest! About three years ago, Matt met Nick Nunns at the Craft Brewers’ Conference in San Francisco, where, after realizing they were both planning to open breweries in Denver, they may have shared a few too many beers. Those breweries would become River North and TRVE, respectively, so it made perfect sense to team up and celebrate how far each has come.
For Collaboration Fest, Matt and Nick brewed a Belgian-style Single, or Enkel, and fermented it in 2nd and 3rd use whiskey barrels. This beer will debut for the first time Saturday, March 22nd at the festival! If you want to try this and other one-time collaborations from breweries around the great state of Colorado, there are still a few tickets left at http://events.imbibedenver.com/pages/collaboration-festival
Friday, March 28th: Tap takeover + pilot beer at World of Beer – Belmar! Trent, one of our brewers, used to work at WoB and teamed up with their crew to brew a Belgian Pale Ale hopped with Willamette, one of our favorite hops. This one-time beer will be the star of the show, but WoB will also tap several other rare and delicious beers that night! First pours at 6pm.
FINALE: Saturday, March 29th: To send off Colorado Craft Beer Week in style, we’ll bring back a brew that hasn’t been available for a year and a half. After nine months in the barrel, batch two of Wine Barrel Aged J. Marie is ready!
We’ll have it on tap and in bottles starting at 1pm on the 29th, in the taproom. Many of you have been clamoring for this brew, and we’re delighted with how it turned out. Dry with notes of oak and fresh pears, Chardonnay barrels provide the perfect complement to our farmhouse ale. If you’ve been a regular here a while, you know how rare this beer is, so don’t miss it! Bombers will cost $15 with a 2-bottle limit. We’re bottling 120 cases for taproom and stores.
In addition to these events, we’ll rotate through rare beers all week in the taproom, showing you how we do here in Denver.
Cheers to the State of Craft Beer, Colorado!
