Yep, it’s almost that time of year. GABF. The event we work and plan for all year, when thousands descend upon our fair city.
We have a great list of events this year, so even if you don’t have a ticket, we’ll make sure you get your fill. The taproom will also open early at 1pm Wednesday through Sunday. Of course, all this is addition to pouring on the festival floor (booth I30).
As always, we’ll start with the basics, with details to follow.
- Wed. 10/9, 1-9pm: Wayward Wednesday “Double Barrel Quad.” Quandary aged two ways.
- Wed. 10/9, 6-9pm: Colorado Rare Beer Tasting at Rackhouse Pub.
- Thurs. 10/10, 7-9pm: RNB + Stapleton Tap House Beer and Cheese Pairing.
- Fri. 10/11, 1-4pm: Denver Rare Beer Tasting at the McNichols Building.
- Sat. 10/12, 1-10pm: The finale! The Empty the Cellar Party at the taproom!
Wednesday, October 9th: We’re doubling down on events to kick off GABF week. At the taproom we’ll have Double Barrel Quad, a special edition of our weekly Wayward Wednesday tapping. B-Side Quandary is a barrel-aged version of our Belgian Quadrupel, aged in bourbon barrels with cherries. Rum Barrel Quandary is Quandary aged in Jamaican rum barrels. Available side-by-side, so you can taste how a barrel can change a beer. First pours at 1pm.
The same day, we’ll join our local brewing friends for the sold-out Colorado Rare Beer Tasting from 6-9pm at Rackhouse Pub. We’ll be pouring samples of Anniversary Ale #1, Barrel Reserve 2013 and Whiskey-aged Hello, Darkness Black IPA.
Thursday, October 10th, 7-9pm: Beer, Cheese and Enlightenment. We’re partnering with our good friends at the brand-new Stapleton Taphouse to bring you a gourmet event in an intimate setting. RNB Founder and Head Brewer Matt will join cheese expert Devin Lamma to bring you six tastings of gourmet beer and cheese pairings, including one barrel-aged brew. Attendees will also receive exclusive glassware, beer specials after the event and complimentary snacks. Tickets are $35 in advance and can be purchased at the brewery or the Stapleton Taphouse starting tomorrow!
Friday, October 11th, 1-4pm: This year we’re excited to pour at one of the premier events surrounding GABF, the Denver Rare Beer Tasting. For this special event we’re unleashing one of our secret projects, which we’re calling “J. Marie Barreled & Bretted,” our signature farmhouse ale aged in red wine barrels with brettanomyces. But don’t worry, even if you don’t have a ticket to the sold-out event, this rare gem will be available to the public down the line.
Saturday, October 12th, 1-10pm: The grand finale…at the taproom…the Empty the Cellar party! The concept is simple: raid the fridge. Anything barrel-aged or limited we’ve been saving, plus several new possibilities, all on tap together. The current lineup includes Anniversary Ale #1, Barrel Reserve 2013, Whiskey-aged Hello, Darkness, Rum Barrel Quandary, B-Side Quandary…stay tuned for more additions!
Finally, per our tradition, the taproom will be closed Monday and Tuesday following the fest as a reward to our staff for all their hard work.
And now…we all wait.
